About us

Linguarus, d.o.o. was established in 1998. We were among the first companies to offer translations into Russian. With just one employee and a small office, we began to cooperate with the Trimo Company from Trebnje. We translated all their technical documentation and various other business texts. By delivering high-quality professional translations and always meeting the deadlines, we proved ourselves as a reliable business partner. Word of mouth being the best advertising, we soon acquired new clients. A new colleague joined our team, and we expanded our offer: we now translate into more than 50 languages, including some rare ones.

Linguarus provides written translations, court-certified translations, proofreading, formatting, interpreting and court interpreting services.

Shortly after our company was established, we were approached by people who wished to learn Russian. Eventually, we became a school of Russian and other languages.

At the time, there were not many Russian course books to choose from, so we developed our own study materials. Drawing on first-hand experience, we devised a five-level course program of Russian and then supplemented it with conversation practice with native speakers.

Our teaching method and study materials were entered in the register of copyrights with the Copyright Agency of Slovenia under number R-28/14.

A great many students have learned Russian with our help. Some of them did so purely out of love for the language; and others, for business reasons—in fact, many Slovenian companies do business in Russian-speaking markets. Becoming experts in teaching Russian and recognizing the need for the knowledge of specific terminology, we developed specialized courses of Russian, held at our clients’ premises. With a sense of pride and accomplishment, we follow the progress of our students from their first encounter with Russian to speaking it fluently.

Russian is not the only language we teach. To keep up with the growing demand, we expanded our offer to include 10 other foreign languages and assembled a team of excellent teachers. Our innovative approach to language learning is tailored to the needs and wishes of our students. We place great emphasis on foreign language conversation skills; and for this reason most of our courses are taught by native speakers.

Due to the need to produce our own study books, in 2011 we added publishing to our company’s activities. The Linguarus Publishing House publishes bilingual Slovenian-Russian literature, dictionaries, and various study materials adapted for Slovenian readers. Featuring interesting and informative topics and an innovative approach, our publications facilitate learning, expand the reader’s vocabulary, promote communication in Russian, and bring Russian culture closer to the Slovenian public.

Linguarus consists of the Director Maryna Bilash, the project managers overseeing translations and language courses, and a team of teachers and translators. Our head office is located in Ljubljana, at 5 Splitska Street, where you are welcome to visit us on weekdays, between 8 am and 4 pm.
